The Strong Center for Excellence, a youth and family outreach program founded by former NC State and professional basketball player Danny Strong, will be offering a youth basketball skills training program, in conjunction with the Fuquay Varina Athletic Association, beginning on Feb. 17th, 2013. These clinics focus on basic basketball skills for children ages 7 and up, with an emphasis on learning important life skills about teamwork, sportsmanship and personal life development. The cost for each session is $25 per player, with longer term pricing discounts and financial assistance available. A portion of the proceeds go to support the FVAA non-profit youth athletic program, which will be used to help improve their recreational basketball program. The remainder of the proceeds benefit the Strong Center for Excellence, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit dedicated to community outreach for families and children in the area. Participants do not need to be an FVAA member to attend; clinics are open to all residents of Wake, Harnett, Johnston and Lee Counties. Limited space is available, so register early. For more information and to register, visit thestrongcenter.org, or email Danny Strong at thestrongcenter@gmail.com.
