During the month of January the Student Council at Fuquay-Varina Elementary School held a food drive to benefit the BackPack Buddy Program at their school. This program supplies nutritious food and snacks to children who may not have consistant food resources at home.
In all, more than 45 boxes of food were collected from students and teachers. Fifth grade teacher Jeremy Jahn motivated students by agreeing to allow the fifth grade classroom that collected the most food to shave his head.
FVES is proud of the successful food drive and the ability to help the community.
