The former resident of Fuquay-Varina and Fuquay-Varina High School graduate, Brittni Browne will represent Fuquay-Varina in the Miss North Carolina USA Pageant this fall. The Miss North Carolina USA Pageant is the preliminary state pageant, leading up to the Miss USA Pageant which is next spring.
At Fuquay-Varina High School, Browne was captain of the Women’s Varsity Basketball team, a member of the track team, and also a member of the yearbook staff. When Brittni moved to Fuquay-Varina her junior year in high school, she said she immediately felt like she had gained hundreds of family members. Fuquay-Varina High School was one big family, she explained. Brittni graduated in the class of 2009 and moved on to the North Carolina Agriculture and Technical State University to study marketing.
At 21 years old, Brittni is a senior at North Carolina Agriculture and Technical State University majoring in marketing. She will be graduating from the North Carolina Agriculture and Technical State University in May of 2013. “I have reached a point in my life where I have decided to not only chase, but to catch my dreams,” Brittni said.
Throughout the past couple of years, Brittni has accomplished many positive activities such as participating in the Student Government Association, running for and winning the position of Junior Class President, and being a part of NCAT American Marketing Association. She also enjoys chartering the only professional marketing fraternity incorporation in the nation, Zeta Pi of Pi Sigma Epsilon. In addition, Browne is the vice president of Professional Development.
After surviving a terrible car accident and totaling her car, Brittni realized that life is too short and to follow her dreams while she still can. This is what made her to decide to participate in the Miss North Carolina USA Pageant. Her life experiences also helped her to develop her platform, “We must go against the doubts in our minds to follow the dreams in our hearts.”
Brittni Browne has already achieved her goal which is to be in the Miss North Carolina USA pageant but also strives to win the Miss North Carolina crown and give back to her community.
At the Miss North Carolina USA pageant, Brittni will perform an opening number, after having to answer a series of questions on stage, ending with swimsuit and evening gown competitions. If she is within the top five competitors, she will have another on stage interview to compete for the title of Miss North Carolina.
The Miss North Carolina USA pageant is Nov. 9 and 10 at High Point Theater in High Point.
“During this experience, I hope to inspire and encourage others to follow their dreams.” Browne said. “Growing up, I would have never thought that I would be competing in a state pageant. Where I come from originally, it’s something that you can only dream.”
