Monica Nawojczyk is a winner! Her design was chosen in the Fuquay-Varina Downtown’s t-shirt design contest held by the Fuquay-Varina Revitalization Association. The contest was held to promote and support the town of Fuquay-Varina and its growing community.
Monica Nawojczyk is a stay-at-home mom of two children. Before settling here with her family, Monica and her husband traveled around looking for the “ideal place to raise a family”.
“We love the small town feel of Fuquay-Varina, we love the climate, we love the proximity to the mountains, beaches, great colleges, and Raleigh, and of course we love the warm friendly people of the south,” says Monica. She said that living here reminds her of her hometown in New Jersey. “My husband and I love raising our two children in Fuquay-Varina. I love living here!”
An art hobbiest for 24 years, she enjoys creating murals. Her passion for art inspires her to take on any job dealing with art and she enjoys every minute of it.
Monica heard about the t-shirt design contest through a notice in the newspaper a few weeks ago. She created a design with two towns connect connected with a circle, uniting them as one. With the deadline date coming closer every day, Monica started feel less confident about her designs. Although she had created several designs, she started to think about not entering the contest at all. With the help and encouragement from her family, she sent it in exactly a minute before the deadline.
When Monica found out that she had won the Downtown’s Fuquay-Varina t-shirt contest, she was overwhelmed with happiness. “I was very excited,” says Monica, “It’s very nice to get feedback on something you made, getting positive feedback is always very rewarding. It’s a confidence builder.” Monica was very happy she had decided to submit her design in the contest. “I am proud my t-shirt design was chosen to represent Fuquay-Varina.”
