Marsha Smith, Secretary-Treasurer of Kiwanis Club of Fuquay-Varina presented three $250 scholarships to Key Club Members of Fuquay-Varina High School. Mr. Randy Senzig is the Key Club Sponsor for the high school. He spoke highly of the following students who received the scholarships: Megan Gallagher, Megan Baker, and Kathy Huyah.

The Kiwanis Club is the adult club that helps and supports the Key Club in the local high school. Scholarships are awarded to deserving Key Club members each year. During the year fund raising efforts help in raising enough money to continue with these efforts. The Kiwanis Club will be selling $5.00 raffle tickets during the summer for a 43” Plasma TV to be drawn during the “Day in Downtown” event on Oct. 27. The club encourages everyone to purchase a ticket in hopes of winning the TV and to help continue the scholarship program.

Kiwanis Club meets every first and third Monday night at 6 p.m. at the local Golden Corral. Feel free to attend a meeting.
