A Mystics Garden, owned by Jan Petri-Kolleda and Dawn Prior, is a shop like none other in Fuquay-Varina. Located at 601 Broad St., the shop offers handmade and specialty jewelry, prints and decorative fountains. Mostly, it offers a calm haven of well-being. In addition to items for sale, there are classes that include topics such as meditation, how to be happy and candle making. They celebrate their first year in business and welcome visitors to also enjoy massage services provided by Adolfo Lunardi.
Lunardi is a massage therapist who is at A Mystics Garden every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday from 12 noon to 5 p.m. At just $40 per hour massage before gratuity, it is a bargain. Adolfo agrees with Jan and Dawn’s philosophy of making things affordable for as many people as possible so that people can enjoy themselves without breaking the bank.

For some 15 years, Jan and Dawn traveled throughout the country to share their knowledge of healing tools—from crystal massage wands, which work with the naturally emanated fields of the body to enhance and move negative flowing processes away and thus eliminate stress - to organic health and harmony tools and amethyst relaxation fountains.
After years of traveling, the mother and daughter duo decided to open up their own store as a relaxation and meditation refuge. While the store has dozens of health and harmony tools, it also features an extensive jewelry collection, including classic vintage reproductions and reasonably priced costume jewelry.
Raised by a scientist and trained as a psychologist, Jan incorporates her knack for intuitive counseling and spiritual cleansing as one of the featured services at the store.
“I like to call it life coaching with a twist,” she said.
Jan and Dawn welcome everyone, no matter what their culture or religion may be. Dawn said they believe that everyone can make a difference in this world through love and sharing your gifts with the world.
“We love what we do and we love people—that’s what drives us. I hope that we can convey that love for other people here,” Prior said.
