Fuquay Varina High School senior Ryan Stitt recently was named the first recipient of the Good Neighbor Award presented by Jonathan Holland State Farm. This award is given to a local hero in recognition of his or her involvement and contributions within the community.

Stitt was selected because he demonstrated these qualities in addition to exemplary citizenship to fellow neighbors and citizens.

Stitt was nominated for the award by his teacher, Mrs. Susan Terry, for donating more than 100 hours of service at WakeMed’s Long-term Nursing Facility. Stitt is an aspiring dentist and enjoys the opportunity to work with patients in this hands-on setting.
