Lateisha Pressley and Candace Patterson of Fuquay-Varina were selected to participate in the 2013 Miss Teen Raleigh pageant. Shannon Dudley of Fuquay-Varina was selected to participate in the 2013 Miss Jr. Teen Raleigh pageant and Keyle Mckinnis and Kamaren James, both of Fuquay-Varina, were selected as contestants of the Miss Pre-Teen Raleigh pageant.
All three pageant divisions will compete on Sunday, Nov. 11.
The young women submitted applications and took part in interview sessions that were conducted by this year’s Raleigh Pageant Coordinator.
The contestants will be competing for their share of thousands of dollars in prizes and specialty gifts.
There will be a total of four divisions with contestants, ages of 7 to 19, competing in modeling routines, which include casual wear and formal wear. Most important, the young women will display their personalities and interviewing skills while interviewing with this year’s Raleigh judging panel.
Personality is the number one aspect that each contestant is judged on during all phases of competition.
If any of the young women win a title, she would represent Raleigh and the surrounding communities at the National Competition that will take place in Orlando, Fla. More than $30,000 in prizes and awards will be presented at the National Competition while each winner enjoys this expense paid trip of five nights and six days in Orlando, Fla.
Community businesses, organizations, and private individuals will assist the young women in participating in this year’s competition by becoming official sponsors. Through sponsorship, each contestant receives all the necessary training, rehearsals and financial support, which will allow them to become confident and well prepared for the pageant.
