Fuquay Varina Independent

Local author Lila Hopkins signed her recently released novel, "Mabel's Way", at David Anthony's on Main Street in Fuquay-Varina. The novel is based on Mabel Council Johnson, who lived in the Fuquay area all of her life. She taught biology and other science classes for 32 years at Fuquay-Varina High School. Mrs. Hopkins and Mrs. Johnson became friends while living at Windsor Point Retirement Community. mrs. Johnson's niece, Cathy Sargent, is shown in the photo with Mrs. Hopkins. Eleanor Stephenson, owner of David Anthony's, was a friend of Mrs. Johnson and said she is thrilled to have the book in her shop. "Mabel's Way" is also available on amazon.com.
