On Friday, a selection of North Carolina’s best chefs from the mountains to the coast will gather in Raleigh to celebrate the inauguration of newly elected Gov. Pat McCrory. Local favorites, Kirsten and Robert Neira, owners of Red Light Chocolates in Fuquay-Varina, will be at the Ball to serve a few of their specialties.
The Junior League of Raleigh selected Red Light Chocolates for the Inaugural Ball it will host at the Raleigh Convention Center on Jan. 11.
“We are thrilled that Red Light will participate in this special night for North Carolina,” said Pat Wilkins, Junior League of Raleigh president. “When we were thinking of chefs that best represent North Carolina cuisine, the Neiras were among those at the top of our list.”
Red Light Chocolates, a local favorite, offers a wonderful assortment of the highest quality artisanal chocolates. Kirstin and Robert Neira started the business out of the desire to spend more time with family.
At the Inaugural Ball, they will serve a selection of assorted artisanal hand-crafted chocolates and caramels. They also will have a guest chef booth and will provide a pair of custom chocolates for all Governor’s Circle attendees.
Since 1933, North Carolina’s newly elected governors have selected the Junior League of Raleigh to serve as the host of the Governor’s Inaugural Ball. This event, which celebrates the Governor and Council of State, helps the League continue its tradition of service to the community by raising much-needed dollars to support the League’s projects and programs. It is through this tradition that the Junior League of Raleigh is able to achieve its vision of strengthening communities by embracing diverse perspectives, building partnerships and inspiring shared solutions.
