Summer camp that is both fun and affordable? Yes, it’s possible to have both.
The Fuquay-Varina Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources will host a full-day Summer Camp beginning June 17. The camp is open to all area children that have completed kindergarten and have yet to start the sixth grade. It will be held at the Fuquay-Varina Community Center.
The camp is broken up into eight weekly sessions. Each session is $100 for Fuquay-Varina residents and $125 for non-residents. A one-time t-shirt fee of $5 is assessed for the first session attended. Camp activities begin at 8 a.m. and conclude at 5 p.m., but parents will be able to drop their child off at 7:30 a.m. and pick them up at 5:30 p.m.
Children will find the camp an active, enjoyable, safe environment in which to spend an enriching summer. Each weekly-themed camp offers diverse activities that are sure to engage children as they work together to learn new skills and make new friends.
Weekly themes include Young Artists, Mad Scientists, Americana, Clown College, Fit-n-Fun, Nature Explorers, Drama Camp and the Wild Kingdom. Campers are invited to attend all sessions, or just the camps that interest them most.
