Woman’s Club to hold Spring Afternoon Tea fundraiser

 The Fuquay-Varina Woman’s Club Public Issues Community Service Program is sponsoring a Spring Afternoon Tea fundraiser on April 13  at 1 p.m. at the Woman’s Club Building, located at 602 North Ennis St. Tickets are $25 and may be purchased at David Anthony’s until April 6 . 

The fundraiser will benefit the Fuquay-Varina Revitalization Association, which promotes the thriving business and residential historic districts. The organizaiton promotes preservation, educates the public, supports the business environment and sponsors community events. 

The Spring Afternoon Tea will consist of mini-biscuits, mini-muffins, assorted tea sandwiches and mini-desserts, along with iced tea and lemonade. Please join the Woman’s Club for this fun event and support the local community at the same time. 

 Hats are always welcome and there will be a prize for the best hat.

The Fuquay-Varina Woman’s Club Public Issues Community Service Program collected items for the SPCA of Wake County from the club members. The group made a delivery Jan. 28 that included eight bottles of bleach, 10 boxes of dog treats, one large container of small dog treats, various small packages of dog treats, paper towels, seven cans of canned dog food, Kitten Chow and a $25 donation.  Darci VanderSlik accepted the donations along with one of the puppies for adoption.
