Join the Fuquay-Varina Independence Day Celebration at South Park on Tuesday, July 3 as fellow Fuquay-Varinians get together to celebrate America’s 236th birthday.

South Park is located at 820 S. Main Street. Gates open at 6 p.m. with the Extraordinaires, playing a range of music sure to please everyone beginning at 7 p.m. Kids can enjoy free inflatables, rides and activities prior to the fireworks which begin at sundown. Make sure to bring a blanket or chair and get there early to claim the best location to view the fireworks. The event is alcohol-free, however, coolers are allowed. Food vendors will be on site. Finally, the Town of Fuquay-Varina ordinance prohibits animals in the event area, so please leave your animals comfortably at home.

The July 3 celebration is a free event organized and sponsored by the Town of Fuquay-Varina. Music is sponsored by Patriot State Bank. Women’s Club shares the ‘puppy’ love
Contributed<br> The Fuquay-Varina Woman’s Club Public Issues Community Service Program collected items for the SPCA of Wake County from the club members. The group made a delivery Jan. 28 that included eight bottles of bleach, 10 boxes of dog treats, one large container of small dog treats, various small packages of dog treats, paper towels, seven cans of canned dog food, Kitten Chow and a $25 donation. Darci VanderSlik accepted the donations along with one of the puppies for adoption.
