The Fuquay-Varina Fire Department visited with elementary schools in Fuquay-Varina and Willow Springs, numerous preschools and several community youth organizations during October as part of fire prevention week which has grown to a month long celebration. Additionally, the department gave station tours and hosted an annual open house attended by more than 1000 people.
According to Fuquay-Varina Fire Chief Tony Mauldin, “October is a very busy month for us, but it’s a great opportunity to provide excellent information to children, teachers and parents, and for firefighters to teach fire safety and prevention.”
