Mary Frances Goddard, Director of the Fuquay-Varina Emergency Food Bank, Fuquay-Varina Mayor John W. Byrne and STARS Theater Creative Director, Cindy Verian say cheese as a donation is given to the food bank that will be used to buy large quantities of macaroni and cheese to feed hungry families with children home from school this summer.
The donation is a result of a partnership between STARS Theater and the Town hosting a community production of “You can’t take it with you”. Fuquay-Varina citizens loved the play and the performers got the opportunity to learn, act and have a good time. As a result of the two shows, the Emergency Food Bank got a much needed donation of $700, but the giving doesn’t have to stop there. If you plan on attending a STARS Theater production this summer, please bring a box of macaroni and cheese. It’s a cost-effective, filling food that children can easily make and most will eat. STARS has a great line-up of plays all summer long. Check out the full line-up at www.starstheateranadart.com. Remember to say cheese – mac and cheese that is and look for more community theater through a Town and STARS partnership in the near future.
