A wise man once said that we never stop learning. That’s very true at the Fuquay-Varina Police Department where several members of the force have spent the winter completing a variety of training courses to enhance skills and knowledge.
In mid-March, Fuquay-Varina Police Captains Bob Adams and Jeff Dunn graduated from the N.C. State University Law Enforcement Executive Program, a six-month program designed to help law enforcement executives meet the critical current and future challenges of modern law enforcement. The 160-hour course covered a wide-range of topics with a particular emphasis on management.
Adams oversees the patrol unit and has been with the FVPD for 19 years. He is married and has two sons. Dunn oversees special operations and has been with the Town since 1997 and is married with three daughters. Both Adams and Dunn live in Fuquay-Varina.
Police Chief Larry Smith is very proud of both captains under his command.
“We are fortunate to have an excellent management team in Fuquay-Varina. Eventually we plan to have all of our supervisory staff attend similar training to continue to enhance and enrich staff skills and knowledge,” he said. “Ensuring excellent training for our police personnel is a win-win for both the department and citizens of Fuquay-Varina.”
