The school supplies were donated to Ballentine Elementary School by the following groups: Bingo, Ladies Auxiliary, Sons of the Legion, American Legion Riders, as well as Legionnaires themselves, within American Legion Post 116.

On Sept. 7, the American Legion Riders of Post 116 in Fuquay-Varina, roared onto the ball fields at Ballentine Elementary School, delivering School Supplies, during the schools 10th year celebration. Kim Short, the principal at the school, a daughter of a 20-year Marine Corp Vietnam Veteran herself was very appreciative of the Post donations. contributed
On Tuesday, Sept. 11, several American Legion Auxiliary members from Unit 116, Fuquay-Varina, delivered baked goods and cards created by their Children & Youth to the Fuquay Police Department and three local Fire Departments, showing their appreciation and thanking them for their presence and support in our communities. contributed
