On Sept. 7, the American Legion Riders of Post 116 in Fuquay-Varina, roared onto the ball fields at Ballentine Elementary School, delivering School Supplies, during the schools 10th year celebration. Kim Short, the principal at the school, a daughter of a 20-year Marine Corp Vietnam Veteran herself was very appreciative of the Post donations.

The school supplies were donated to Ballentine Elementary School by the following groups: Bingo, Ladies Auxiliary, Sons of the Legion, American Legion Riders, as well as Legionnaires themselves, within Post 116.

On Tuesday, Sept. 11, several American Legion Auxiliary members from Unit 116, Fuquay-Varina, delivered baked goods and cards created by their Children & Youth to the Fuquay Police Department and three local Fire Departments, showing their appreciation and thanking them for their presence and support in our communities.
