Jade

Hound/German Shepherd mix, spayed female, 10 months old

Toys, treats, playtime, and love are the words I adore to hear. My name is Jade and I think we should meet! I really like going out for long walks in the mornings and evenings, as it is fantastic exercise to let me stretch my legs and sniff until my little hound nose is content. Don’t worry though, we can play at home too! The numerous toys you can give me can provide me both physical and mental stimulation. Besides the typical tug toy or tennis ball, a puzzle toy to keep me occupied is always a great idea. Peanut butter plus a Kong is a must have while you’re out. I’m still learning that the crate is a safe place for me to stay while you’re away so I will need an owner who can be patient with me while I learn all about crate training. I have a lovely singing voice and tend to use it when I’m curious, lonely, and just because. I enjoy playing with the other dogs here, love sniffing everything and exploring everything in my environment, and am working hard on crate-training. I know a young dog can be a lot of work but hopefully after a visit with me I will quickly find a place in your heart. I currently weigh 35 lbs. and may reach ~45-55 lbs. when full grown. My adoption fee is only $95.00 which includes spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, dewormer, wellness exam and microchip! Visit www.spcawake.org or call 919-772-2326 for more information.

Tasha

Grey Domestic Shorthair, spayed female, 18 years old

Are you interested in giving a sweet older cat a second chance at a loving home? If you are, then stop and say hello to me- Tasha! I have quite a sad story to tell you. My two previous homes decided that they could no longer care for me, so now I am back at the SPCA (again) in my twilight years. All I want and need is a warm bed in a cozy home with people that will love me and never let me go. I can be a bit cranky when other cats are in my space, but that’s only because I want your attention all to myself! I have been around dogs before- while I do find them a bit annoying, I will tolerate them. I don’t really have any special toys, yet I can be persuaded to play with a feather wand or string if you happen to have some lying around. One of my favorites things to do in the whole wide world is to relax in a sunny spot inside. What I would especially love is to curl up in your lap and snooze while you stroke my soft beautiful fur. Does this sound good to you? I am also front declawed, and eat a special diet and receive fluids to help keep me feeling my best- ask an Adoption Counselor for details. My adoption fee is completely waived! I am already spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and all! Visit www.spcawake.org or call 919-772-2326 for more information.
