Madison McCart, age 11, won “Best in Show” in the Youth category at the Second Annual Juried Print Competition at the JC Raulston Arboretum at NC State University. The competition was sponsored by the JC Raulston Arboretum and the Triangle Carolinas Nature Photography Association.
Her winning photograph, “Busy Bee”, and other winning prints along with the judges’ favorites will be displayed at the Ruby C. McSwain Education Center at the Arboretum through October 5 for the public to see. The judges included three award-winning photographers: Susan Bailey, Dave Froelich, and Mary Doherty. “Busy Bee” was taken in July in the Arboretum gardens during a children’s program class called “Photography in the Garden” with Susan Bailey.
Madison McCart is a 6th grader at Holly Grove Middle School. She and her family reside in Fuquay-Varina.
