Contributed During the month of January the Student Council at Fuquay-Varina Elementary School held a food drive to benefit the BackPack Buddy Program at their school. This program supplies nutritious food and snacks to children who may not have consistant food resources at home. In all, more than 45 boxes of food were collected from students and teachers. ‘Audrey’ lost her job in 2008 when her arthritic hands no longer allowed her to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She quickly lost her apartment.
