More than 300 people attended a fun night filled with science as Fuquay-Varina High School on April 18 as school officials celebrated the seventh annual Fuquay-Varina Science Night. Those who attended the event learned about meteorology, geology, the anatomy of a sheep eye and had the opportunity to talk to the Carolina Tiger Rescue volunteers. Rotary collection tops 50,000 books
This month, Rotary District Conference (7710) concluded its annual Children’s Book Dive. In the past several months, all 45 clubs of Rotary District 7710 were challenged to collect children’s books for distribution. More than 50,000 books were collected to be distributed through agencies like YMCA, Book Harvest, Community in Schools and Read and Feed. Of that, the Fuquay-Varina Downtown Rotary donated almost 700 books.
