Woman’s Club boasts 3 state arts festival winners
The Fuquay-Varina Woman’s Club and GFWC Junior Club had three student winners for the State of North Carolina at the March State Arts Festival. Tye Mikles, a senior at Harnett Central High School, won first place with his paper craft. Many similar pieces have been entered previously, but Mikles placed a frame around his three-way view called “Magician-Serpent.” The judges were quite impressed with this piece. Sheldon will not seek reelection to town board
