No tax increase proposed for 12th consecutive year
During the May 6 budget meeting, Fuquay-Varina Town Manager Jon Barlow proposed no increase in taxes for residents in the 2013-14 fiscal year. It’s the 12th year taxes would stay at the same rate of 38.5 cents per $100 valuation. The town expects to spend less than $200,000 more in 2013-14 than in the current budget with $18.3 million in expenditures. And no fund balance would be necessary.
