Teens learn to Drive Wise Saturday
This Saturday, teens will have the chance to test their skills at the Drive Wise Course at Teen Day Fuquay. The program, an alcohol and distracted driving awareness program sponsored by the Fuquay-Varina Police Department, will be held at the Fuquay-Varina Community Center from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is open to teens ages 11 to 18. Growers Market opens Saturday
The Growers Market opens this Saturday to many excited Fuquay-Varinians. Centennial Park will be filled with 14 vendors ready to sell fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, fish and flowers. And this year, the Growers Market will be able to take electronic benefits transfer payments for the first time. The opportunity was made possible by a $15,000 grant. Lions golf tourney raises nearly $10,000 for blind
The Fuquay Varina Lions Club held its 17th annual golf tournament at the beautiful Bentwinds Country Club on April 15. The weather was cool and cloudy, but the turnout was great and the Lions raised nearly $10,000 to help the blind. Flight 1 was won by the Four Oaks Bank team of Jim Riley, Dallas Goldston, David Carroll and Zac Collins with a score of 55.
