A Tail-Waggin’ good time was enjoyed by all at the 2nd annual “Bark at the Park” held on Saturday, Oct. 8, at South Park in Fuquay-Varina. The event sponsors were Century 21 Becky Medlin Realty in conjunction with the Town of Fuquay. All proceeds will benefit Easter Seals UCP of NC.
After opening remarks from Mayor Byrne, dogs, along with their owners, were invited to walk the main trail around the ball field. Following the walk, multiple raffles and three dog contests were held. Special guests included “Homer” the Dog and Chewey the Motorcycle Dog. Michelle Braxton served as the MC for the event. NC State Univ. Pi Beta Phi and Fuquay Varina HS Key Clubbers were on hand to assist the staff at Century 21 BM. Face painting, games and hot dogs were also part of the fun. Becky Medlin with Century 21 Becky Medlin Realty was also on hand for closing remarks.

Contest winners were as follows. Cutest Dog: first place, Ricci (owner Ella Prince); second place, Baby (owner Emily Miles); third place, Drake (owner Melissa Parker); Honorable Mention, Pup Pup (owner Wyatt Medlin). Best Dressed: first place. Maggie (owner Nathan Adams); second place, Bailey (owner Ben Brisson); third place, Cooper (owner Linda Williford); Honorable Mention, Maggie (owner Grant Braxton). Best Trick: first place, Nova (owner Danielle) and second place, Maggie (owner Grant Braxton). Judges were: Debra Hooks, Jim Abernathy and Charlie Adcock.
After expenses, Century 21 Becky Medlin, along with all the wonderful sponsors and participants, was able to raise approximately $5,000 to benefit Easter Seals UCP.
