Military Missions In Action (MMIA) has received a donation from American Legion Post 116, Fuquay Varina. American Legion Post 116 conducted a fundraising project with MMIA as the beneficiary. The donation is given to purchase materials for MMIA projects to assist veterans with disabilities live longer independently longer in their own homes.

Military Missions In Action is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit charitable organization established in January 2008 and was founded by Mike Dorman, MMIA’s Executive Director. Projects to enable disabled veterans include tasks such as constructing wheelchair ramps and rails, creating roll-in showers, lowering of counter tops and widening doorways.

In addition there are those whose disabilities are not necessarily physical such as those with Traumatic Brain Injury and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, repairs to homes of veterans are made to allow the them to concentrate on their healing.

American Legion Post 116 in Fuquay Varina is located on Johnson Pond Road. They welcome veterans from all branches of our Armed Forces and welcome all military personnel serving our country. Post 116 sponsors scholarships, gives aid and assistance to local needy families and their families and support financially worthy community programs and projects.
