The Professional Woman’s Leadership Association’s Quarterly Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, July 18, at Bentwinds Country Club, 6536 Dornoch Place, Fuquay-Varina, at 11:30 a.m. The PWLA is a committee of the Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce. Non-PWLA members, women and men, are welcome to attend this very special annual luncheon at no cost to the first 100 to RSVP.

Membership is open to any working woman whose business or employer is a member in good standing with the F-V Chamber of Commerce or any local Chamber. The annual membership fee is $150 per person. The majority of the fee is used to fund scholarships for promising women who plan to continue their education.

The PWLA is opening the lunch to all who would like to attend in an effort to raise awareness of the significant impact these scholarships have on the young women in our community.

The speakers will be the scholarship recipients Abigail Moody, Kaitlin Barnes and Emily Farthing. Abigail Moody will be attending the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and plans to double major in mathematics and statistics and minor in business. Kaitlin Barnes will attend Wake Tech Community College and study sports marketing and communications. Emily Farthing was one of the winners of the Patriotic Scholarships that will be given out this year. Emily will attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her major will be in global studies where she plans to pursue a career as an intelligence analyst.

Linda Hayes and Lauren Keilman representing The Professional Women’s Leadership Association, presented three scholarships totaling $2,500 at Fuquay-Varina High School Senior Night on May 24. A total of seven scholarship recipients will be recognized on July 18.

Please RSVP by July 11 by contacting Lauren Keilman at lkkeilman@fouroaksbank.com.
