The Town of Fuquay-Varina Fire Department recently received a $1000 grant from the North Carolina Department of Insurance/Office of State Fire Marshal and the North Carolina Governor’s Highway Safety Program to continue their very successful Child Passenger Safety Seat Program which is funded solely through grants and donations. Fuquay-Varina has one of the 71 Permanent Checking Stations in the state of North Carolina.

According to Fire Chief Tony Mauldin, most staff members at the Fuquay-Varina Fire Department have received the 40-hour training to be certified as a National Child Passenger Safety Technician. Department personnel are available every day of the week, unless they are away from the station on a call, from 8 am-Noon and 2 pm-8 pm to inspect, educate and help citizens with child passenger seat installation. The Department installs approximately 40 seats each month. Visit any of the Town’s three fire stations for assistance with a child safety seat. Station #1 is located at 301 S. Fuquay Avenue; Station #2 is located at 5617 Hilltop Road and Station #3 is located in Willow Spring at 2474 Bud Lipscomb Road.
