Throughout several of my columns I have mentioned how I am big supporter of recycling toys. Most of my son’s Christmas gifts this year are gifts I have purchased at yard sales, consignment sales or are gotten from friends.
For those who wish to save money this holiday, an Apex church is offering a toy swap. The swap will allow participants to not only purge their old toys but gain new ones for a minimal fee.
Hope Chapel, located at 6175 Old Jenks Road, Apex, will host their first semi-annual Toy 4 Toy
swap. The swap will take place on Saturday, October 29 from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. For those wishing to participate, set up will take place on October 28 from noon until 8 p.m.
“The idea of the Toy 4 Toy swap is to bring your gently used toys and swap them out for toys they will be thrilled with,” a statement about the event said. “However many toys you bring indicates how many toys you swap. The only cost is a $10 swapping fee.”
The Toy 4 Toy swap will benefit the church’s Spring Fling which is celebrating its 5th year in 2013. Everyone is welcome to participate in the event and preregistration is not required. Those wishing to learn more about the event need to contact Jodi Wahba, Spring Fling director, at Jodi@wahba.net.
For those wishing to save money this holiday season, I find events like these to be the perfect place to find holiday toys. These type events are great events for those who wish to live the frugal lifestyle. Make sure you make your holidays a little more affordable and participate in this great event.
