Businesses across the nation are paying tribute to our those who have served this Veterans Day. Area restaurants and businesses will offer veterans free meals or products.

One area restaurant offering a free meal to veterans is Applebee’s. The free meal will be offered on Sunday. According to the company’s website, military veterans and active-duty service members can choose from a seven-item menu. However, beverages and gratuity are not included. A military identification card or proof of service is required to obtain the meal.

Chili’s is another restaurant offering a free meal on Sunday. The offer is available from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. and allows active-duty service members or veterans a choice from a limited menu. Proof of military service also is required.

For those service members or veterans that have a craving for doughnuts, Krispy Kreme offers a free doughnut to service members. The offer is available to all active-duty, retirees and veterans. Be sure to call ahead to verify your local Krispy Kreme is participating.

However, discounts are not just happening on Sunday. Several restaurants are offering discounts on Monday when Veterans Day is observed.

Denny’s restaurants are offering veterans and active duty service members all-you-can-eat pancakes from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Monday.

Golden Corral officials will host the 12th annual Golden Corral Military Appreciation dinner on Monday. The dinner is available to any person who has ever served in the U.S. Military. If you are a veteran, retired, currently serving, in the National Guard or Reserves, you are invited to participate in Golden Corral’s Military Appreciation Monday dinner. For more information about the Golden Corral dinner, participants are encouraged to visit the company’s website.

Little Caesars Pizza also is offering free items to veterans on Monday. Veterans and active military members can get a free Crazy Bread with proof of military status or proof of service at participating stores nationwide. Participants are encouraged to call ahead to verify participation.

Lone Star Steakhouse also will honor veterans on Monday. Military Service Members and veterans can receive a free appetizer. Taste of Texas Sampler is not included and ID is required.
