Mr. Harrison Joes spent a few days last week with his son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Jones of Hillsborough.

Last Sunday, after the morning worship at the House of Prayer for All People in Lillington, Rev. Uppsie McKoy and several members of the church visited Mrs. Mildred McKoy in Raleigh where she resides with her daughter and son in law, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Harris. Mrs. McKoy is “Mother of the House of Prayer For All People Church”. They enjoyed being together for a happy and warm congregational Christian fellowship.

The 11 a.m. worship followed Sunday school. The morning sermon was delivered by Bishop James E. McCoy, Presiding Bishop of the Eastern North Carolina district.

The closing service of the conference included the Ushers’ March, the Memorial Moment, the Necrology Report, report of committees and greetings from the retired preachers. The Charge to Ministers and People followed the Reading of Appointments of Pastors by Bishop James McCoy. There were some changes in some of the pastors’ appointments and some of the pastors returned back to their Charge.

Attending the Annual Conference from Bethlehem AME Zion Church were Annie Bullock and Frances Matthews. They were happy to be present and to welcome their pastor, Reverend Linda McLean, her husband, Mr. Fred McLean and their daughter, Miss Whitney McLean back to serve the Bethlehem congregation.
