Wake Radiology announces the opening of its newest office in Fuquay-Varina. This new Wake Radiology office features screening and diagnostic imaging, including digital screening mammography, bone density screening (DXA), general X-ray, ultrasound and the area’s only magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

The new office is located at 7636 Purfoy Road, Suite 200, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526 and will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Fuquay-Varina office joins the other Wake Radiology locations that have earned the American College of Radiology’s prestigious Breast Imaging Center of Excellence (BICOE) designation. This certification is awarded to centers that have achieved high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs. Wake Radiology was one of the first two multi-site freestanding outpatient imaging providers in North Carolina to receive this designation – and remains the only one in the Triangle to do so.

The new office is staffed by radiology technologists who hold advanced certifications. All imaging studies are interpreted by subspecialty trained radiologists who are true experts in women’s and breast, pediatric, orthopaedic and sports, body and neuroimaging as well as interventional radiology and vein care. Additionally, all of Wake Radiology’s physicians are board certified by the American Board of Radiology.

Wake Radiology now has 19 convenient locations throughout the Triangle including additional offices in Raleigh, Garner, Chapel Hill, Cary and Wake Forest.

At the Fuquay-Varina office, screening mammograms are available without an appointment during office hours. Appointments can be made in advance by calling 919-232-4700. Although a physician’s referral is not needed for this exam, women must have visited their primary care provider within the last 24 months.
