I typically find the day after Christmas to be my favorite shopping day of the year.
I usually get up early to shop and find the best prices typically come one day after Christmas.
There are several reasons I love shopping on this day. One of my favorite things to shop for is gift wrap. Typically stores place their Christmas gift wraps on sale.
I usually find several, considered Christmas gift wraps, that I can use throughout the year. They are simply red, green or blue in color, but have no mention of Christmas or holidays. I will purchase my Christmas gift wraps for next year and then find plain wrapping paper to use for birthdays and other presents throughout the year.
I also find the day after Christmas a great time to purchase candles, soaps and even toothbrushes. These are items that are considered stocking stuffers, but can be used at my home throughout the year. I also stock up on Christmas gift baskets. These are great gifts that can be given away throughout the year.
Trinkets are other items I like to shop for in the after Christmas sales. I buy clearance priced trinkets to be used in goody bags for birthday parties or items that can be used in my children’s classrooms for various prizes.
Readers can check out the toy aisle the weeks after Christmas as well. I find that stores cut prices to help reduce their Christmas inventory. This is where I purchase gifts for my daughter’s birthday, which is in the months to come, presents for my children’s friend’s birthdays and even purchase gifts to be given at Easter.
I have found that shopping the day after Christmas can save lots of money and the impact can be felt all year round.
