The application period for magnet schools, Early Colleges and Leadership Academies continues through Friday, Jan. 25.

A link to the online application is available at www.wcpss.net. Families may apply any time during the application period.

Middle-school and high-school students may rank the Leadership Academies and Early Colleges along with their magnet choices. Students may rank up to five schools.

No special performance standards or test scores are required for admission to magnet schools. The only exception is admission to the Academically Gifted Basics Middle School Program, which falls under the requirements for AG programs.

To apply for a magnet program, students must currently be attending a WCPSS school or registered with the system. Rising kindergartners and new/ returning WCPSS students must first register with the system at their base schools. Once students have registered and received an NC Wise student identification number, students may complete the online magnet application process.

Students interested in attending an Early College or Leadership Academy should already have completed an initial application in Fall 2012 and must complete the second portion of the application process online. The online application is available through the same link on the WCPSS website. Applicants must have an NC Wise student identification number to complete the online application.
