Baseball registration for the Fuquay-Varina Athletic Association 23rd year opened Jan. 25. Registration numbers are increasing at a much faster pace than in years past.
The online tool, Playerspace, has helped as participants no longer have to go into the office to register. And some leagues are filling up fast.
Registration ends on Feb. 14, but there is limited space this season. The cost is $60 for t-ball (ages 4, 5 and 6), $75 for rookie (8U), $85 for minor and major and $95 for junior and senior. Registration is available at http://fvaabaseball.playerspace.com.
The short-term goal of the baseball program of keeping alive quality baseball in the Fuquay area. The FVAA now will utilize fields at Fuquay-Varina High and Middle Schools.
Numerous volunteers have helped perform upgrades on other fields. If interested in joining all the volunteers, please contact the FVAA.
There is more to do in order to make the FVAA program as strong as it can be. As the FVAA goes forward, its members will begin to shift focus toward long-term goals, like actively looking at land to purchase and build a permanent baseball complex. This will not be an overnight change.
If you have any suggestions or ideas on how to help with the long-term goals, please visit the FVAA website at www.fvaa.org.
