The 10th Annual Celebration of the Arts Festival currently is accepting artist applications for booth space. The festival will be held on Saturday, June 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Fuquay-Varina. The Celebration of the Arts has grown from a street-type art fair to a large art festival with more than 80 art vendors and 9,000 visitors. It is part of a town-wide festival called Celebrate Fuquay-Varina. Artists throughout North Carolina and the southeast will be represented at the festival.
The Celebration of the Arts is open to all artists and fine crafts people producing original work. Exhibited work must be that of the applying artist and reproductions of original work, such as posters and cards, may be sold but may not occupy more than 15 percent of the total booth space.
Commercially produced work from kits, or imported art and goods will not be considered for inclusion in the festival.
The Celebration of the Arts festival is a juried show. To be considered for inclusion, artists must complete an application, and submit three images of their work. Booth fees are $85 or $90 (after April 1) and the application deadline is April 12. Artists must supply their own display equipment. Exhibitors will be notified by mail if they have been accepted into the festival the week of May 6.
