All Wake County Public School System schools will operate on a three-hour delay on Friday due to the threat of inclement weather during the early morning hours. District leaders will continue to monitor the weather and road conditions throughout the county early Friday morning to determine when buses can safely transport students to the district’s 169 schools.
When schools are delayed:
- Before-school programs will start on a delayed schedule.
- Breakfast may be served at the principal’s discretion if school is delayed one hour or more.
- Athletic and extracurricular events will be canceled if school is closed or dismissed early.
