Shane Lympany of Troop 320 in Fuquay-Varina has earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank a Boy Scout can attain. His Eagle Court of Honor was held on September 26, 2009 at Fuquay-Varina United Methodist Church, the Troop’s chartering organization. During Shane’s Boy Scout career he has served as his Troop’s Assistant Patrol Leader and Senior Patrol Leader as well as being initiated into the Boy Scout’s Order of the Arrow.

Shane’s Eagle project was the construction and placement of over 150 feet of boardwalk for a wetland area at Camp Agape in Harnett County. Summer campers, school groups, and other visitors to Camp Agape will be able to use the boardwalk to explore the wide variety of plant and animal life in the wetland area.

Shane is a senior at Fuquay-Varina High School where he is a member of the National Honor Society, swims on the FVHS high school swim team, and plays alto saxophone in the FVHS Wind Ensemble. Following graduation, Shane plans to attend college to study Aerospace Engineering.
