Summer camp that is both fun and affordable? Yes, you can have both! The Fuquay-Varina Department of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources will host a full-day Summer Camp beginning June 21. The Camp is open to all area children that have completed Kindergarten and have yet to start the Sixth grade. It will be held at the Fuquay-Varina Community Center.

The camp is broken up into eight weekly sessions. Each session is $100 (the week of July 6 – July 9 is $80) for Fuquay-Varina residents and $125 (the week of July 6 – July 9 is $100) for non-residents. A one time t-shirt fee of $5 is assessed for the first session attended. Camp activities begin at 8:00am and run until 5:00pm, but parents will be able to drop their child off at 7:30am and pick them up at 5:30pm. Children will find the camp an active, enjoyable, safe environment in which to spend an enriching summer. Each weekly camp, centered around a theme, offers diverse activities that are sure to engage children as they work together to learn new skills and make new friends. Weekly themes include: Fit-n-Fun, Going Green, Mad Scientists, Clown Camp, Young Artists, the Great Outdoors, Drama Camp, and Music Camp. Campers are invited to attend all sessions, or just the camps that interest them most. The official camp brochure, schedule of camps and registration information are available through the Fuquay-Varina Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department website, www.fuquay-varina.org, or by calling (919) 552-1430.

Contacts: Anthony DiMarzio, Parks & Recreation, 919-552-1430; Susan Weis, Public Information, 919-552-1417.
