Robert Jackson (Jack) Faucette, 84, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, went “home” on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013. He was born on May 16, 1928, to John Bennett Faucette and Thelma Chappell Faucette, and was reared in the Needmore Community.
The funeral service was held on Feb. 4, at the Fuquay-Varina Baptist Church. Visitation was at the church, beginning at 1 p.m. followed by the service at 2 p.m. The burial was at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Jack, a Fuquay-Varina native, played all sports in high school and was an avid golfer who shot his age until he turned 80. He was a buyer for Universal Leaf Tobacco Company for 35 years. He accepted Christ under the preaching of Rev. Charlie Howard and was life-time member of Fuquay-Varina Baptist Church. He loved the members of the Page Sunday School class and enjoyed hosting their fish fries at his pond.
Jack was preceded in death by his sisters, Ruby Lee Faucette and Mildred F. Abbott. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 62 years, Taylor Bennett Faucette of Fuquay-Varina; sons, Robert (Rob) Jackson Faucette, Jr., and wife, Mary Lou, of Fuquay-Varina, and Kim Bennett Faucette and wife, Sandra, of Raleigh; brother, J. B. Faucette and wife, Carolyn of Fuquay-Varina; sister, Betty Sue F Cooper of Bradenton, Fla.; grandchildren, Jason Faucette and wife, Laura, Amy F. Schenk and husband, Ryan, Jonathan Faucette, Daniel Faucette and wife, Sarah, and Sarah Beth Faucette; great grandchildren, Ava Grace Faucette, Jase Faucette and Jack Nash.
