The Fuquay-Varina Area Community Collaborative will host an event March 14 in hopes of creating a “no wrong door” web-based server of service providers in the community.

The partnership hopes to help identify all community services available in the Fuquay-Varina area.

“That takes everybody’s input,” Thomas Ray of Youth Thrive said.

Also during the event, the group hopes to identify barriers in providing services.

Civic organizations, principals, counselors, social workers, school nurses, faith-based groups, non-profits, local mayors and town officials, and members of Wake Health and Human Services have been invited to the “building community connections” event. In all, nearly 150 invitations were distributed for the evening at Fuquay-Varina Middle School at 6 p.m.

“We want it to be a warm, fuzzy evening,” Associate Pastor Elaine Lilliston from Fuquay-Varina United Methodist Church said.

The event will promote life coaching as a type of human capital development, but even more than that, it will push for more connection between all of the service providers in Fuquay-Varina.

“It’s just a beginning,” Southern Wake Family Medicine’s Joyce Wood said. “We’re engaging people to move forward.”
