Arthur Orlando Peterson
Holly Springs – Arthur Peterson, 91, passed away peacefully at home July 31, 2012. Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 4, at Abiding Presence Lutheran Church, 7300 Sunset Lake Road, Fuquay-Varina. Burial followed at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh.
Art was born on October 7, 1920, in Leland, IA, to Elmer and Julia Oakland Peterson, the eldest of four children. He graduated from Leland High School in 1939. Art proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Force as an aircraft mechanic from 1942-1945.
Art is survived by Corabell Krosch Peterson, his beloved wife of 64 years; children, Colleen Peterson Nicholson and husband Brock, Clayton, NC; Danne Peterson and wife Desiree, Poway, CA; Kevin Peterson and wife Judy Sidorick, Creedmoor, NC; Gregory Peterson and wife Jena, Asheville, NC; brother Boyd Peterson and wife Joann, San Diego, CA; as well as six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Art was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Arleen Siuba, and brother, Harlan Peterson.
Art’s family received friends Friday, August 3, at Thomas Funeral Home, 401 N. Ennis Street, Fuquay-Varina.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Abiding Presence Lutheran Church, Fuquay-Varina.
